Plight Of Indian Education At School Level

The present education system is a grave matter of concern. Gone are the days when admissions in schools and colleges were given to students on merit or candidates who rightly deserved it. Getting a child admitted in a prestigious school is impossible without paying a hefty donation. Some schools do not even bother to assess the child’s intellectual ability; management is more interested in the amount of donation that the parents can pay. As a result, bright students fail to get admissions in such schools. It becomes very difficult for a middle class person to shell out a hefty donation for a child, imagine the case wherein there is more than a single child in a household.

Furthermore, the plight of the child does not end here. Education is all about mugging and no extracurricular activities. The child is buried in books and so much of bookish knowledge does not really contribute to the growth of the child. This is also the reason why there are so many cases of suicides in the country. The pathetic structure of education is driving young, innocent students to the brink of death because they are unable to cope with the pressure and stress. Pressure from the society, parents, families and schools to excel beyond their capability and ability leads to amass confusion and stress.

Most of the schools are funded by local, government and private bodies. The plight, infrastructure and the state of local and government schools are pathetic and beyond imagination. Lower class people and poor people obviously cannot think of admitting their children in good schools and potential bright students end up in government schools where the education system is not mentioning.
